What Is Vitamin C serum?

Vitamin C serums are trending right now in the beauty industry. Everyone is buzzing about all the amazing things that will happen to your skin with prolonged use. Because it is acidic, some skin care professionals recommend easing into daily application. If you have sensitive skin you might want to start with one application every other day and work up to daily use.

What does Vitamin C serum do for your skin?

Vitamin C is supposed to protect against sun damage because it is so rich in antioxidants.  Antioxidants fight against free radicals which in turn help protect against sun damage. There are three main ingredients

Hibiscus Flower – Which is known as the ” The Botox Plant”, has been used for centuries in tea and skincare routines alike. Hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin and delivers long lasting moisture. And last but not least,

Vitamin C – Is rich in antioxidants and bursting with hydrating and protective benefits.  There is also

Jojoba oil – Jojoba oil is extremely sensitive and is wonderful for any skin type. It actually is one of the only oils that has a similar structure as the oil on your face. Because of this, it is easily absorbed into your skin. It is also anti-acneic in nature which is a plus for us acne sufferers!

The other ingredients include

Aloe – Like vitamin C, Aloe is a natural exfoliate and helps slough off dead skin cells.

Green tea – is packed full of antioxidants and helps combat sun damage.

Witch hazel – is known to relieve skin irritation and inflammation. It is an astringent which means it helps your pores contract. Witch hazel is great for people with oily skin.

Vitamin E – fights against the aging process, it seems Teami picked a power house of ingredients for this Vitamin C serum. Especially if you are looking for an anti- aging addition to your skin routine, which really everyone should be! Using it as a preventative measure is more important than waiting and trying to reversed aged skin.

How often should I use Teami Vit C serum?

On the label, they recommend using it morning and night after cleansing for best results. I find that after application it leaves your face a little bit sticky for a while, but this does not seem to last long. I wouldn’t think it would affect applying your make up in anyway. As I mentioned above, if you have sensitive skin you may want to work your way up to multiple daily uses. As far as seeing results, the longer you use it the better. Since it is great for premature aging, implementing it into your long term skin care regime is a good idea.

What makes Teami Vit C serum different from other Vitamin C serums?

Teami Blends Vit C serum is infused with essential oils and hibiscus plant. I haven’t seen another serum with hibiscus in the ingredients. It’s also priced right in the middle of most serums on the market. It’s not really cheap and its not outrageously expensive, either. Teami has it listed for $44.99 on their site.

How long will one bottle of Teami Vit C serum last?

They recommend 2-3 pumps twice a day.  If you used 3 pumps twice a day it would probably last you a month.  I’d recommend using 1 1/2-2 pumps per application to stretch it a little further. Currently, I’m using it once per day before bed. Since it has a little bit of a sticky consistency after application before bed has worked best for me. I’m expecting to get 6 or so weeks of use out of this one bottle.
