Makeup storage on a budget

If you’re in the market for cheap makeup storage options then you are in the right place!  Anything related to cosmetics can be downright expensive. With the majority of humans living paycheck to paycheck, budgeting for anything related to cosmetics can be stressful.  I used to have tons of makeup and didn’t use half of it. I condensed and organized what I had and am very conscious about what I buy now.  Anything I recommend will be 25$ and under, accomodating for any budget!

How to store makeup

Having the proper storage for your makeup, brushes, and sponges can make your morning routine much smoother and less messy.  When I’m rushing in the morning the last thing I want to do is try to remember where I put everything. When I’m disorganized it takes me way longer to get ready because half the time is spent rummaging through trying to find what I need. And then half of it ends up spread over my counter and left there because I’m not conscious about where it belongs anyway.  I’ve condensed my morning routine by organizing my makeup based off the order in which I use everything.

Divide your makeup into these categories

  • Face (foundation, concealer, bronzer, lips, blush, setting powder)
  • Eyes (eyeshadow, eyeliners, mascara, brows)
  • Applicators (brushes, sponges)

Minimalist makeup storage ideas

If you want something that works that’s super simple, I’ll show you what I do. Storing your makeup in bags makes it super convenient for packing in a hurry and is easily stored in a drawer if you don’t like clutter on your bathroom counter.

MAGEFY 3Pcs Makeup Bags

This is a great makeup bag set because they’re waterproof, so no soaking through the bag if something spills. And your makeup is protected if something spills on top of the bag. They are a good size and fit a decent amount of makeup (if you’re a makeup minimalist like me). If you have tons of makeup and have no plans on getting rid of any, this option probably isn’t right for you. This trio allows you to organize your makeup into the three categories I recommended in bags for easy access.

Cheap acrylic makeup storage

Another cheap makeup storage idea is with acrylic drawers and brush holders.  These stack nicely on your bathroom and are easy to clean.  They also make things more visible if you don’t like digging around a makeup bag. This set would accommodate organizing into the three categories with the large bottom drawers for face, smaller drawers for eyes, and top piece for brushes and lipsticks. Anyway you decide to divide it up, this organizer would be perfect if you have the counter space.

If that one is too big for you, this is the one I have. I use it for eye makeup and eyeshadow brush storage.
